The popular initiative will celebrate vegan, organic cuisine in the Big Apple
Tickets are now on sale for the New York City premiere of Steinbeisser’s Experimental Gastronomy vegan dining event. On May 18 and 19, Stenbeisser is partnering with the James Beard Foundation to bring renowned US chefs Elise Kornack, Dominique Crenn, Niki Nakayama and Emma Bengtsson together to create a nine-courses organic, vegan tasting menu.
Dominique Crenn (Atelier Crenn, San Francisco) is the first female chef in the US to earn three Michelin stars; Elise Kornack is the former chef and owner of one Michelin star restaurant Take Root in New York; Emma Bengtsson (Aquavit, New York) is the only female chef in New York to receive two Michelin stars and only the second female chef in the US to do so; and popular Los Angeles chef Niki Nakayama (n/naka, Los Angeles) was featured in the first season of Netflix's Chef's Table.
Launched in 2012, the Experimental Gastronomy event aims to explore new ways to eat mindfully. This year’s dining experience will include a menu made entirely from ingredients sourced from organic and biodynamic producers in New York and the surrounding states.
The event will also feature custom cutlery and tableware designed by fifteen artists, and a portion of proceeds will support the James Beard Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Programs.
