“Our mantra is 'We know where it came from and how it was made'. The food we serve is nurtured, picked, and prepared by local producers who are just as passionate about it as we are.”
Pick of the crop (made using only local produce, including bread, avocado, cheese, bacon, Macadamia dukkah, and micro-herbs); local reef fish with Bargara Brewhouse beer batter and local potatoes; and pumpkin hummus with local macadamias and herbs.
Indulge has precisely the right moniker for a café and bistro in the heart of one of Australia’s most fertile growing regions. Drive in one direction and you’re surrounded by fields of sweet potatoes and tomatoes, macadamia plantations, and blueberry farms. In the other, the local fleet brings in prawns, fish, and scallops from the Coral Sea.
Indulge’s menu is the sweet spot where it all comes together, supplemented by house-made jams, chutneys, pickles and sauces, and excellent coffee.
The pumpkin that flavours the hummus is grown five minutes away, suppliers call if there has been a random catch of fish, and anything compostable ends up feeding the backyard garden.
Young and enthusiastic staff, often from local farming families, are keen to share the stories of the produce with customers.
“There are good reasons this busy café is always full ... including tempting blackboard specials utilizing locally sourced, quality produce to great result.”
