“Sustainability runs through the heart of what we’re hoping to achieve as a restaurant. We work with suppliers to ensure our food is locally produced, supports the community and authentically reflects Cambodia’s culinary traditions. 100 per cent of Spoons’ proceeds go directly to support EGBOK’s Training and Internship Program, which allows students to gain the skills and experience they need to succeed in hospitality careers to lift themselves out of poverty.”
Num Krok: spring onion and coconut crispy dumpling with coconut dipping sauce, galangal, and fermented radish; Tuk Kroueng: traditional Khmer gravy with local river fish, garlic, shallots, tamarind, prahok, chilli, coconut cream, local vegetables, roasted boneless chicken leg, and steamed rice; and “Forest Sausage”: beef, pork, mung bean, holy mint, garlic and galangal sausage with banana flower salad and tree ant dressing.
Stylish Spoons is a breezy eatery and bar serving elevated Cambodian street food appetisers and inventive takes on traditional mains. Sous-chef Sun Sam Oath plucks fragrant herbs from a small organic kitchen garden, and fresh fruit, vegetables, chicken, and pork from local farms. Ninety per cent of ingredients are local, with the bar offering Cambodian beers and cocktails mixed with sombai-infused rice spirits. Sustainability extends to the architecture and design, which was built with sustainable bamboo, with placemats and seat cushions made from textile factory remnants.
"A restaurant well worth the wait."
