“When we opened Kingfisher in 2012, we set about becoming MSC certified as we knew this was the gold standard for sustainable, responsibly caught and fully traceable fish. We currently serve twelve MSC-certified species, leading the MSC to declare ours as the “most sustainable seafood menu in the world“. Sustainability is the top priority for sourcing our fish. This may mean it’s not the most local catch but for us, knowing that it has been caught responsibly, in a way that will not damage delicate ecosystems or stocks and is fully traceable, is of the utmost importance.”

We love how these guys actively promote fish and chips as a nutritious, delicious treat that is part of a balanced diet which can be eaten with a clear conscience. It is a source of protein, vitamins, minerals, and fibre and a portion of homemade mushy peas counts as one of your five-a-day. Using 100 per cent natural ingredients, they are doing everything in their power to maintain fish and chips’ status as the nation’s favourite dish. In October 2017 they were invited to Japan for three weeks to promote and champion sustainable fish and chips. While there, they cooked a record 9,000 portions of fish and chips in ten days and were asked to come again. What ambassadors!
