“The Wellington Arms is a traditional country pub offering carefully crafted, unpretentious dishes using our homegrown produce and the best from the local area. Our food changes with the seasons using the local produce available, and the vegetables and fruit we harvest from our gardens. All the eggs used in the kitchen are laid by our organic flock of free-range hens and honey comes from our five hives. Our wine list consists of many organic and biodynamic bottles produced at wineries around the world.”

Signature Dishes

Crispy-fried homegrown courgette flowers stuffed with Beau Farm ricotta, lemon zest, and pine nuts, with leaves from the garden; slow-roast leg of home-reared Jacob lamb with tabbouleh, labneh, coriander, and sumac; and jelly of house-made elderflower cordial with homegrown strawberries, and homegrown rhubarb ripple ice cream.

What we say

A small place that has been doing absolutely everything right since we first visited eleven years ago and were fair blown away by Jason and Simon’s commitment to sustainable, ethical dining: eggs from their own organic hens, milk from local organic herds, food waste minimized through on-site composting and the use of Green Cones, local schools and hospitals regularly supported through donations, fêtes, and bazaars, LED lights, kitchen water recycled, young staff nurtured... but, most of all, incredible cooking and a wonderful welcome. One of our biggest little heroes.
