David Bann

What they say

“Here at David Bann, we’ve been perfecting the art of good food and service since 2002. We work with the seasons and our local suppliers as and when possible, highlighting the beauty of vegetarian produce. Although it is not always possible to only use local produce, we strive to whenever in season (from Greencity cooperative in Glasgow), and always prefer to use British artisan cheese.”

Signature Dishes

Parsnip and blue cheese pudding with pea sauce; spiced quinoa, spinach, hazelnut and walnut courgette wrap; and whisky panna cotta with pear and caramel sauce.

What we say

Still Scotland’s leading vegetarian restaurant after more than fifteen years in this excellent Old Town spot just a few steps from the Royal Mile. Its modern, slick interior was in stark contrast to the hippy-dippy look preferred by most vegetarian restaurants when it first opened and perhaps that has kept it feeling so relevant. They have always recycled responsibly and place their commitment to the life vegetarian at the heart of their ecoconscious philosophy.
