Frankie’s Fish and Chips

What they say

“Frankie’s is dedicated to sourcing and serving local and sustainable produce. We offer a large selection of seafood produce which is caught and landed at local markets in Shetland and processed locally. Ninety-eight per cent of these are MSC-certified, and all come from the incredibly rich waters around Shetland, meaning that they are not only sustainably caught or harvested, but that they are very low in food miles. We pride ourselves on our staff training and our staff’s extensive knowledge of the products that we offer.”

Signature Dishes

North Sea haddock and smoked haddock homemade fishcakes; Shetland honey and chilli Blueshell mussels; and local king scallops in garlic and Shetland butter.

What we say

There is definitely something special about being the most northerly fish and chip shop in Britain, but there is something even more special about being the Best Fish and Chip Shop in Britain, which Frankie’s was named in the 2015 Seafish National Fish and Chip Awards. Paul Williams of Seafish said at the time, “The competition gets fiercer each year. This year was no exception... but Frankie’s Fish and Chips stood out throughout the judging process. Their passion and determination has to be admired.” Well, we do. We admire it a lot.
