Public

What they say

“We named our restaurant ‘Public’ because our number one priority was to be community driven and all-inclusive here in Wichita. Our goal is to create dishes inspired by seasonal and local ingredients for the masses. It’s been rewarding to help local farmers grow their businesses while they help us elevate the quality of food we are serving. We work with over thirty local purveyors to source the finest products in our region.”

Signature Dishes

Shrimp and grits with shrimp from Sunflower Shrimp Company, organic yellow corn grits, Yoder Meats andouille sausage poached in Wichita Brewing Company WuShock Wheat and pea sprouts from KanGrow Hydro Farm; Serenity Smash Steak Burger with Creekstone Farms steak patties, Alma Creamery aged cheddar, Serenity Farms green tomato relish, lettuce, grilled onions, and secret sauce; farm fresh carbonara with house-made smoked garlic fettuccine and duck ham.

What we say

Smack-dab in central Kansas on a bend in the Arkansas river, Wichita is the biggest city in Kansas, and a place where folks know the value of a dollar – which is why everything at locally minded Public is priced about what you'd pay at a mindless big-box restaurant. But you’ll never find bright farm-fresh eggs like Public has at a chain, so it all works out very well for the people of Wichita, who get top quality at a price they feel good about.
