Fullsteam Tavern

What they say

“We’re tireless advocates for the local farm and the Southern wild. Truly local beer and food fosters community and deepens our connection to the land. For example, we brewed a Baltic Porter, Farm’s Edge: Brumley Forest, with foraged black walnuts, sassafras, and hickory nuts – all collected on land protected from development and open to the public for wandering. For the beer’s release, we made a handheld pie with local sorghum and black walnuts. This beer and pie pairing shined a light on a new 600-acre public land that people might not otherwise know about. Our mission is to connect people to the land and to one another – beer and food are by-products."

Signature Dishes

Beaufort shrimp salad roll with chili vinegar slaw; pork belly sandwich with black garlic barbecue sauce; pimento cheese with aji amarillo and pickled pepper jelly, served with locally made crackers.

What we say

Fullsteam is a consistent voice for progress in North Carolina. The company actively supports the Durham Living Wage campaign, led opposition to a state law barring transgender individuals from bathrooms, and underwrites NC Craft Brewers Guild scholarships for women and people of color.
