Basic Kitchen

What they say

“The goal of Basic Kitchen is simple: use seasonal, local produce, and the best ingredients to create food that’s nourishing and delicious, giving eaters tons of energy to pursue the things they love. We’re big into diverse flavors and are inspired by dishes from around the world.”

Signature Dishes

Tempura cauliflower with buffalo sauce and a side of cashew ranch; brown rice bowl with seasonal vegetables, legumes and “magic green sauce“; “Conscious Cowboy” plate: local chicken and ginger sausage with cauliflower grits, spinach, hash browns, and two local farm eggs.

What we say

Customers at Basic Kitchen can’t help but participate in the restaurant’s mission to strengthen its community, protect the planet, and advance good health through food – especially if they order the beet burger. The wholesome patty is constructed from the pulpy remains of root vegetables pressed for juice, a delicious and nutritious tactic for reducing food waste. Basic’s juice bar also produces a monthly cleanse program, consistent with owner Ben Towill’s belief that Basic Kitchen is “a lifestyle rather than just a restaurant.” It holds monthly Boot Camp & Brunch sessions, with a boot camp session in the parking lot followed by brunch at the restaurant

What others say

"Basic Kitchen stands apart from the crowded dining landscape for the way it fills a notable void with healthful, nourishing, local fare – the kind of food you crave and could eat every single day." –Laura Neilson, Vogue
