Attica chef Ben Shewry helping victims of Christchurch mosque attacks

Attica chef Ben Shewry is holding a bake sale to raise money for the victims affected by the tragic mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand on 15 March. From 9am – 12pm tomorrow, Saturday 30 March, cakes and pastries will be for sale by the piece at Attica.

“Each person is donating at least 250 pieces of a delicious food item to sell at our massive bake sale,” Shewry wrote in an Instagram post. Chefs include Andrew McConnell, Neil Perry, Shannon Martinez and more. “Every cent that is handed to us by the public goes directly to the Givealittle fund set up by Victim Support in New Zealand. Not a single cost will be taken out and everyone is donating their time, money and food and drinks to make this happen,” said Shewry. You can donate at the Givealittle page here.

TL&CC Collective restaurant Villa Aida of Wakayama, Japan, is turning twenty. To acknowledge the occasion, they have created a special festival in which four other TL&CC restaurants will partake.

My Way Expo 2019 will see over seventy chefs, producers and artisans from across Japan gather in Osaka for a day of eating, drinking and discussing food. The festival, organized by Villa Aida chef and owner, Kanji Kobayashi, is in celebration of the restaurant’s twentieth anniversary.
