“SHED Café and Larder sources locally and sustainably-caught seafood and sustainably-raised trout. Much of our produce is sourced from farms located within ten miles as well as our own sixteen-acre HomeFarm, where we grow an array of fruits and vegetables, olives, grapes, flowers and herbs, and tend chickens and bees.”
Roasted strawberries with lovage, purslane, wild peas, and pennyroyal lychee; wild king salmon Nicoise with new potatoes, fermented green garlic, crimson little gems, and olive aÏoli; braised Valley Ford rabbit with summer squash, charred wild onions, apricots, za'atar, preserved lemon, and flowering thyme.
Part market, coffee bar, home goods shop, events space and café, SHED is a multifaceted foodie mecca that celebrates Sonoma County’s extraordinary natural resources. At the café, frequently changing menus employ the best of local agriculture – including SHED’s own biodynamic farm – in generous, endlessly creative ways: the chef might tweak a wild king salmon with fermented green garlic, team Mendocino urchin with satsuma, wood sorrel, and kumquat, or pull a Swiss chard and bottarga pizza from the wood oven. SHED also mills its own flour and makes fermented products, some of which are available to buy as delectable mementos of Sonoma’s terroir.
“The Shed celebrates its location in a way that no other place duplicates. It feels like the most authentic and beautifully conceived restaurant in Sonoma County right now.” –The San Francisco Chronicle
