We are honored that the restaurant has become such a communal hub. Our regulars are our lifeline.”

What we say

“From the Garden“ is a section on Lowell’s menu, but it could also describe the laid-back Sebastopol restaurant as a whole. Owner Lowell Sheldon is passionate about sourcing from the surrounding Sonoma County countryside – including from his restaurant’s very own Two Belly Acre farm.

Lowell’s Italian-inspired, vegetablecentric menu is the result of collaborations with sustainable and local fisheries, foragers, farmers, winemakers, and small-scale cattle ranchers. Thin-crust pizzas with seasonal toppings and house-made pasta are menu mainstays, as is the macro bowl, a wholesome riot of wholegrain rice, beans, and fresh, marinated, and fermented vegetables. Although the restaurant serves minimal meat, it emphasizes creative, nose-to-tail preparations; its pork sausage shows up in several dishes. The beverage selection is packed with organic and biodynamic wine, beer, and cider. And, as befits a community hub, the dining room is usually packed with regulars.
