“We care about the well-being of people and our planet. We want to create a positive community using healthy food and artisanal products as a vehicle – connecting local farmers with local families, and creating awareness around sustainability. By creating in-house sustainability systems and sourcing and using responsibly-sourced design materials and products, we believe we can create positive changes. Communication and education are the keys for any successful change – and no greenwashing allowed.”
Sustainably sourced salmon with local spring pea purée, corn, and black-eyed peas; coconut curry bowl with chickpeas, bok choy, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, and golden raisins; vegan flapjacks made with toasted pecan, hemp seeds, maple roasted butternut squash, orange, and banana.
Inside this bright, cozy, all-day cafe, you’ll find healthy food and drinks, community, and a mindful dining experience. Customizable grain bowls, salads, and tapas selections, which are all thoughtfully labelled as vegan, vegetarian, lacto or gluten-free, provide the edible base.
The space also plays host to free community events, Sunday morning yoga, and dinner and conversation with health experts. Local, artisanal products, such as books, juices, herbs, and supplements, fill their retail shelves, so that you may incorporate their mission into your own daily routine. “The Hive is our community“, explains founder Jennifer Masley. “Just like bees have an intimate network of roles and responsibilities necessary to keep them happy and healthy, we as humans need this, too“.
A community doing its best for people & the planet
