“Supporting and mentoring the new generation of street-food traders. Since launching in 2012, Street Feast has transformed derelict and disused spaces into unique eating and drinking environments. From car parks to old markets and rooftops to office blocks, Street Feast has taken over locations including Dalston, Lewisham, Canada Water, Battersea, and Bermondsey, with more coming soon. In each new borough we choose a local charity to support, usually where our expertise in food and drink can help. In Hackney, for example, we support the excellent Made in Hackney charity, a vegan community kitchen teaching cooking skills to older people.”

Street food by its nature is low on food waste. Street Feast’s traders specialize in only one or two things and they always plan to sell out. When it’s gone, it’s gone. They rarely have more than one or two red meat traders at a venue and almost all offer vegetarian options. Sixty per cent of the materials used to build the venues is recycled or repurposed. When a venue closes (they operate on short leases), they take most of what they have and use it somewhere else.
“For a snapshot of the exciting food-and-drink scene in London, there is probably nowhere more stimulating, nor better value, for a fun night out.” –Nicholas Lander, Financial Times
