“Temper is all about having a good time. We turn the music up, we put a huge open fire in the middle of the room, and we serve food and drink that doesn’t pull any punches. We’re also about sustainability, minimum waste, and excellent produce. We only buy whole animals in Temper Soho – for us, this is the cornerstone of our sustainability – which means we can purchase from small trusted farms where we know the animal and its history, supporting small farms in their mission to keep native rare breeds alive while paying them a better price than the market.”
Beef fat tacos: cubes of aged beef fat served on a fresh corn tortilla with coriander, lime, and chipotle sour cream; slow-smoked pulled cabrito taco served on a fresh flour tortilla; and deep-dish cookie: cookie dough filled with chocolate and condensed milk.
This is a staggering place. Wonderful eating. One of those rare restaurants where you stuff yourself to the nuts, turn nothing down, swallow everything that’s offered, and then fall back into a taxi afterwards, not regretting a single mouthful. Temper, we salute you!
“Temper is one of the most exciting restaurants to open in London this year. I’m not quite self-regarding enough to think people open restaurants with me in mind. But if they did, the restaurant would be Temper.” –Jay Rayner, The Guardian
