“Waterhouse Restaurant is home to the Blue Marble Training programme, which works with sixteen- to twentyfive-year-olds who are experiencing challenging circumstances in their lives as they transition into independent living. The programme offers ongoing pastoral support alongside kitchen-based chef training to young people whose needs cannot be met by traditional models of education, training, and employment.”
The Waterhouse chicken curry; the Shoreditch breakfast; and jerk chicken.
Waterhouse Restaurant is an unexpected find amongst the offices and residential quarters of Haggerston. But it is modern and bright thanks to window walls overlooking the Regent’s Canal, and the outdoor tables overlooking the water are a rare find in the capital. As well as all the wonderful work done here to train young people facing challenging situations for a life of independence and sustainable employment, great stuff is done around all areas of physical and mental health, equality, and diversity. And you can get a really decent feast for not very much money at all.
